In this mode of instruction, the teacher introduces and models the type of skill that she wants her students to learn and then gives students time to work on the skills during the independent practice portion of the lesson. These lessons are best used to explain clearly a detailed or technical skills that students must master in order to succeed with grasping the content area material.
