Case-Based Learning Lesson Plan
Case-Based Learning is a type of instruction that emphasizes a particular situation of "case" to be solved and introduces the pertinent information to the students in the form of a story. Students must read through material and solve problem-sets along the way in order to reach a final conclusion on the lab. CBL is a research-supported way to provide students with the critical thinking necessary to build upon their scientific skill set.

"Teachers interested in involving their students more fully in classroom discussion have found that case studies can provide a rich basis for developing students’ problem- solving and decision making skills... Cases can help us organize and bring to life abstract and disparate concepts by forcing students to make difficult decisions about complex human dilemmas."
